Discrimination and oppression of the asexual community
Not content with being our favourite transphobe, and desperate to remain in the limelight, J.K. Rowling recently turned her hate towards another minority group - the asexual community, accusing asexual people of faking their oppression, while denigrating them for not experiencing sexual attraction.
As a recent commentary piece in LGBTQ Nation shows, the oppression and discrimination faced by the asexual community is very real, while many asexual people are at risk of sexual violence and other "corrective measures", including conversion therapy.
Being asexual can also come with legal consequences in jurisdictions that have consummation laws that require sex to take place between partners in order to avoid the relationship being declared as null and void. Some asexual women have also reported being denied medical treatments such as transvaginal ultrasounds because they were still virgins.
